PBX Engineering provided project management and electrical design services for the new ferry terminal in the town of Klemtu, a small remote community off the West Coast of BC.
This fast-tracked project was a joint effort between BC Ferry Services and the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and included significant input from the Kitasoo/Xai’xais First Nation. Components of the electrical design included power distribution, architectural and feature lighting, compound operational and security lighting, lighting for the ramp and pontoon areas, dolphin catwalk lighting, navigational lighting and spare underground ducting for future communications requirements. The project involved coordination with the local private run-of-river electrical utility for power servicing.
The team was recognized for involvement in this project through the reception of a 2012 Premier’s Award.
