Since the late 1990’s, Roy Lima was an AutoCAD technician at PBX Engineering (previously named PBA Engineering).
As the company grew, Roy took upon a leadership role and stewarded PBX’s production department for many years. Sadly, Roy passed away in the fall of 2015. Professionally, Roy will be remembered for his tireless, loyal and dedicated work effort. As a colleague and friend, Roy is remembered for his kind nature, humour and generosity. He was one of the few people that could properly sport a mustache, and was also a mean rally car driver!
To commemorate our dear colleague and friend, PBX Engineering has partnered with Camosun College to create the Roy F. Lima Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled full-time in the Engineering Graphics Technician Program at Camosun. To be considered for award, students must have demonstrated both a high academic achievement and show interest in pursuing a career in an area related to Computer Aided Design (CAD).
PBX Engineering, along with members of Roy’s family, were proud to present the first annual Roy F. Lima scholarship to three recipients on May 30th, 2018. The recipients for the 2018 scholarship and award were Elie Shyaka, Aaron D. Ameila and Christopher Kuusisto.
Scholarships presented by Roy’s sister Grace on the left and PBX Engineering’s Linda Gabriel (now retired) and Andrew Townend.
Congratulations to all three!
