Mr. Grant has extensive experience designing integrated security systems within the marine, industrial, and corrections environments. He has been involved with the full spectrum of the project lifecycle, ranging from project planning, site assessments and infrastructure reviews to detailed design, construction, and testing and commissioning services. His responsibilities have included system planning, design and specification, quality control, field implementation, systems integration, project management services, construction inspections, and acceptance testing.
Mr. Grant has designed and provided project management and construction services for multiple large scale security systems in industrial applications and several Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) corridors. His designs have included fence detection and perimeter security covering extensive perimeter distances, large-scale CCTV surveillance designs, card access deployments, license plate recognition deployments, Advance Traveller Information Systems, and long range thermal imaging for harbour surveillance.
Several of Mr. Grant’s designs include the integration of industrial controllers, such as PLCS and HMIs, into the overall head-end system to provide unified platforms for the control and monitoring of various aspects of a system beyond the typical card access control and video surveillance. Such controllers have been used for advanced vehicle access controls, correctional facility inmate cell controls, wide area lighting, and water treatment stations. In a majority of the projects, Mr. Grant has also been responsible for the development of the PLC software and overall integration into the Command and Control environment.
